"Back to School" is an episode of The Fresh Beat Band from the second season. This episode was on iTunes - Back to School. Characters Present[]
Summary[]It's their first day back at Music School and the Fresh Beats reminisce about their favorite songs. They can't decide on just one, so they decide to make an awesome, new back-to-school song. Plot[]It's a new day, and the Fresh Beats are packing their backpacks because it's a big day being the first day back to school, and the band is super excited. The Fresh Beats mention how they are going to perform for their class and Ms. Piccolo, but they need to pick a song to sing and dance to. Shout tells the group that he finally finished packing his bag with all of his stuff, and then Kiki asks what's in the bag. Then Shout unpacks a bunch of folders, binders, food, books, and a fish tank with his pet goldfish Walter. Shout also unpacked a sandwich he had in his backpack, and Twist decided to eat some of it. Shout packs everything back up and takes back his cheese sandwich that Twist had started to snack on. The band grabs their backpacks and heads off to the recording studio. When the Fresh Beats arrive at the recording studio, Reed is already there and ready to get things going as the Fresh Beats put on headphones with stripes of their color to signify which pair of headphones belong to each member. The band does a quick microphone check, with each member's going well, but Twist's microphone is being testy and moving up and down. He eventually pulls out his own microphone to test things out. Ms. Piccolo comes in and greets the Fresh Beats and Reed, mentioning how excited she is to hear whatever song the band will choose. So she leaves, and then it's up to the Fresh Beats to pick a song, but the problem is that they do not know what song to perform. Marina gives a smart solution by picking songs off the recording studio computer. The other Fresh Beats agree with Marina's idea, and Shout then mentions that he is excited, and it hits him which song he feels they should do. Shout mentions to the group the memory of being so excited to the point where his legs went loco, and the memory of "Loco Legs" sprung. Shout selects the song on the computer as it starts. Footage of the episode is shown, like Shout in his room when his case of loco legs starts up, and we also get scenes from the actual song. When the song ends, the band finishes off a little singing, and Reed agrees that "Loco Legs" is perfect to perform. While Twist is still obliviously dancing with "loco legs," he almost kicks Marina's drum kit, almost breaking them again. Then, when that quick little scare happens, it sparks a memory in Marina, that being "Stomp the House". Twist even mentioned how, at that time, Marina herself broke her drums. After wittingly saying that the Fresh Beats "stomped the house," Marina selected "Stomp the House" to play. As the song plays, we get scenes from the episode like Marina's drums falling apart and the tiny drum kit being shown. Twist was also seen rapping along to his part while the song was playing, with Marina banging her drumsticks on two stools, Kiki and Shout dancing, and Reed clanging two bottles together. After the song ends, the Fresh Beats mention that they are stomping the recording studio as they still continue to jam along. Reed then says that they should record "Stomp the House" for the performance, but Kiki has a song that she wants to do as she pulls up "Tap It Out". Marina mentions how that was when Shout borrowed her duck slippers for Tap Dance Day. Twist pulled in a joke saying that one "quacked" him up, and everyone else laughed. They all decide to watch "Tap It Out", which includes scenes of the Fresh Beats tap dancing on stage and scenes from the episode like Shout's tap dancing shoes flying off his feet into the palm tree. The song ends in the studio with each of the Fresh Beats in animal slippers. Shout in the duck slippers; Marina in cow slippers; Twist in dog slippers; and Kiki in flamingo slippers. Reed then says that they should record "Tap It Out". Twist interjects to mention that there is one more song that should be kept in mind as he sips a smoothie and clicks the yellow box showing an image. When he is about to say what it is, he freezes. The others are confused as Reed understands that Twist's favorite song is "Freeze Dance". Twist unfreezes, saying how the song officially is "Freeze Dance", then he plays the video as we get footage from this episode about a freeze dance party they had and other scenes like Marina's drumsticks melting and the hot street. When the song ends, they are all happy, but Kiki mentions that they still have not picked a song and they need to soon as Reed loves them all, but each has different favorites. "Loco Legs" is Shout's favorite, Marina's favorite is "Stomp the House", "Tap It Out" is Kiki's favorite, and "Freeze Dance" is Twist's favorite. Twist gets his big idea for the day, saying how they could take a giant blender and put each song in there, mix it up, and get a song that they would call "Loco House Tap Dance". As crazy as it sounds, Twist imagines the song going, "I got, I got, I got, I got! Clang, bang, rap-tap-tap it out. Freeze your legs". Marina agrees that it would be cool, but then she gets the bright idea to just record a whole new song. The others agree, and Reed sets up, and they start recording their all-new back to school song. When the Fresh Beats finish recording their song, they make their way out of the recording booth. Kiki packs up her guitar while Reed tells them it's on the CD and just needs to be exported. Twist asks to do it, and Reed happily lets him. However, when Reed grants Twist the honor, he is very hesitant to push the button to export it. The other Fresh Beats tell Twist to push the button already, and once he does, the CD comes out, and Twist gives it a good sniff, saying it's got that "new song smell," while probably tainting the CD's quality. The group decides to play the song on the way to Music School and plays a shortened version of their song on Kiki's boom box. The scene cuts to the Fresh Beats on stage dancing to the remainder of the song for the class, and they loved it. Ms. Piccolo congratulates them on another swell performance and asks if she can keep the song. Another great day for the Fresh Beat Band and another great song. Songs[]
